We can book time, in fact they'd actively encourage it I think, but it's feeling like I can without missing key emails where they want information yesterday. It's getting to that stage though.
On Friday I completely messed up my interview for that little bit of extra responsibility/leadership because I was just too frazzled (trying to finish off the last thing, while the next thing was going on). Also I don't seem to be sleeping as well as usual, I only got 5 hours last night, which is very unusual for me, so I need to listen to the warning signs.

You do. I always forget what a difficult time of year this is. One year I took the first week of June off. Never again. I spent every afternoon in the hotel working, and the following three weeks were hell.

It's usually bad this time of year (May is hell month), but I don't think it's usually quite this bad. Not helped by the extra coursework coming in before the exam scripts usually would.
Just remembered I've got 7 projects to mark as well, so that's at least 35000 on top of the 45000 in the next three weeks. At least it will feel like summer has come early because it will all be done 3 weeks earlier than usual. The resits period is starting to look tight though.

Yeah, I'm finding the late/rolling submissions really hard to manage. I don't have as much marking load as you, though.

Can you create a bit of 'downtime' for yourself G_g? it sound like you need a bit of a break, even if its just a day or two? It's been too easy over the past few weeks to work every day.
I've had my last day in school for a while and I've been stupid in the number of hours I've worked to make sure everything is ready to hand over to my deputy. Averaging 15-18 hours a day for the past week or so. I got it all done though I left school at 5pm then have just had a video governor's meeting for an hour. I'm feel drained. Tomorrow I have plenty to do but at least I can work from home at hours to suit me.

I wasn't quite doing those hours GM! Blimey!
Although I did lose pretty much the whole bank holiday. Will go for a run and chill out tonight. Tomorrow's calendar has opened up, so I will probably take it a bit easier tomorrow. Thu will be 5 hours of zoom meetings though. Next week is almost clear of meetings though, so it's basically get through to the end of the week, and then I'll have my break. Might even take some actual days off w/b 8th June.

On the first day of half term ISAMS was opened for us to do reports for yrs 7 - 10 and 12. They are doing 'assessments' in the week beginning 15th June. I teach all 3 sciences to all 3 yr7 classes - so that's 3 papers to create and work out how to get into a readable online and editable format, then 9 sets of papers to mark and 9 sets of reports to write (I have asked, repeatedly, to be able to write combined reports for all 3 subjects), plus biology and chemistry sciences to 5 year 8 classes (thankfully just one year 10 and one year 12 class). I know that if I write the reports now (and why would I want to spend half term doing that) I'll just end up having to heavily edit them after marking all those sodding exam papers!
I still don't know how many 'build up to sixth form' lessons I'll be expected to teach after half term....

Sounds a bit odd asking for reports when parents will or at least should have a better idea than ever at the moment.
That sounds like an awful lot though, and I know from MIL that reports might be worse than marking. I can't imagine how you do them when you haven't seen them for a while.

I've 'seen' them for every single lesson since we closed. All the lessons are done via teams - we have to have a live bit for the first 20 minutes, then I set them tasks to do and we try to have a plenary at the end of the hour. It is bloody hard to gauge how much work they are doing when you aren't in the same room, and by the time I have marked what they hand in it is too late to chase really. The advantage is that you can mute year 8 at the touch of a button. Last time we had reports to write I negotiated a day off timetable as it was recognised that I had a ridiculous number of reports to complete.

Sorry Mrsbridgewater, I assumed it was mostly asynchronous teaching for secondary school pupils.
Being able to mute Y8 sounds good though.
