Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Cheers chaps. A shame that you couldn't make that race SM6 so your brother retains bragging for the time being. Our county champs is in a month or two which I'm targeting for a real go at sub-19, quick course and a strong field as I'll need ll the help I can get. Will be interesting to see if running in the evening makes a difference as I've only ever done parkruns at 5K

Nice run Uyuni. 19:08 for me at Poole. Need to sort out the 3rd mile as drifting way off pace. Speed endurance needed.

Resurrecting this thread as I try to get below 19 again. I am committing to doing intervals every Wednesday until I manage it (being going a month or so). Last four attempts at parkrun have been 19:31, 19:18, 19:15, and 19:21 yesterday.

Not sure I'm taking the right approach so open to ideas on best intervals, whether to try parkrun hard every week, tapering etc

Over to you!

What strength work do you do CW? Specifically strength work aimed at increasing stride length?

i'll join you in the thread too as it's one of my short (hopefully) term goals. I've been strict with myself over getting the intervals and tempo quality workouts in lately whilst building up overall mileage slowly. Feeling better for it already. Going to try my first attempt of the year next weekend. Going to do my harder sessions of the week before Wednesday and do only easy running wed - fri.

My favourite interval session at the moment is 6 x 3mins at 3-5k pace with 2 mins jog recovery between

Chris, that'll be none. I think I have the speed, but it's the endurance that gets me. Fine for the first 2K then I hit maximum sustainable HR and I slow.

What strength work would you suggest?
