There were some ladies who were I think quite new. One said are we last? I said you're never last at parkrun (think there was something on their fb page recently that said that because of the tail runner) anyway the ladies were happy to hear that and thanked me.

Volunteering at parkrun was my best deed today too. Especially as was 12 miles into my 18 miler that I had to stand around in cold and mist. Last 6 miles home then we're bloody horrible 😂
Hope you're all having a good weekend. Peace x

I prevented somebody getting run over on Wednesday. Then, another passer-by and I kept her occupied for an hour while we phoned various people til we got her mum to come and pick her up. Drunken 17yr old girl out on her own on a busy road.
Just read through this thread, what lovely people you all are! I have decided in the light of all the crap we keep hearing/reading about in the world that the only course of action is to ''be the good''.
Part of me would love to get rid of Facebook, but that's where all my friends live...

I've not really seen anyone today whilst out and about. QP has a stinking rotten cold though, so I dispensed lots of cuddles (his acceptance and indeed requests for cuddles suggest he really does feel 'crap') and ensured he was fed and medicated. I even offered to watch a film with him but he declined.

Hi late to join but better late than never! Can't think offhand of nice examples to add but will report back. Loving all the posts so far!
Ooh I took the bus to work yesterday to leave my hubby the car to do some errands, it was raining when I came home and had to wait ages for the bus. Something I really want to do is to be more supportive to the homeless. Often I don't have much change with me to buy them anything and never know what to say. I will do better next time

I've been at a spa all day and didn't think there would be much scope for RAK today. But then I was asked to help a chap get his GF who was in the changing room.
And I offered to let someone go in front of us in the till queue at Waitrose but they declined.
And every time anyone has sneezed near me today I've said 'bless you'.

I'm often finding it difficult to create or find an opportunity for a RAK because, I suppose, I don't me across strangers all that often.
I am trying to be kinder at home, work and when with my friends though. This thread has certainly heightened my awareness of my approach to others so thank you, Mr T

Me too, SW. I'm "thinking nice thoughts" and assuming the best, rather than the worst, in people's words and actions.

I haven't had much opportunity either other than saying good morning or hello to people as I run past them, I did cheer every single runner in the mixed Counties XC race at Northampton yesterday, picked up something someone had dropped and handed it back and petted a friends dog.

I was stopped (verbally) by a middle-aged chap who clearly wanted a chat along the towpath yesterday at the end of my run. We talked about running (he thinks it's daft!) and his preference for Sunday afternoons in the pub, George (the dog), my very hi-viz gilet and his narrowboat. As we parted, he commented that not many people would have stopped to talk to him which I thought was rather sad.
