Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Well done MN. And I bet your legs don't feel as trashed as last year?

Nice one, MN. 90:30 is my go-to ratio for long runs.

Is that what you’ve used for marathons XB? I remember running Trimpell 20 with you and Rob and you kept easily catching us up and we all finished together.

I'm not sure of the ratio. But it would have been something like that, Jenny.

MN did you do your long training runs using that ratio as well? What about shorter runs? Sorry about all the questions but I’m new to jeffing and want to do Yorkshire marathon using the method.

Hi Jennywren, yes- not all my long runs (though didn’t do many, as I said, didn’t really train properly for this marathon) but some, as well as some shorter runs. I used to experiment with ratios but now it’s pretty much all 90/30.

My favourite ratio is 2:40/0:40 as it results in 2 minutes walking out of every 10 minutes. But the best advice is to experiment and find the ratio that works best for you.

Thanks MN. And FR I’ve done 5:1 and 4:1 (probably not enough walking) and recently 3:30. That’s been my favourite so far but I’ll try 90:30 this week for the 10 miler I’m doing on Sunday. I have a lot of mental barriers to overcome (have always thought walking was a ‘failure’) but I’m working on it!
