Welcome Ian. Building up time on your feet with a run/walk strategy is a very sound approach - and if you have a parkrun nearby, you might find running with others of all abilities on a Saturday morning a nice motivator and a way to benchmark progress over time.

Welcome to Fetch :) It's a great place to be, and to share the trials & triumphs of returning to running. Run/walk is a great way to build up - it's a lot kinder to joints and muscles, and recovery tends to be easier. Couch to 5k is great - but does build up comparatively quickly to blocks of continuous running.

Hi, I am returning to running after ten years of 'recovery' since my last run. I am a month away from my 58th birthday and have missed the routine of training and the mental health benefits that running brings.
