Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I’m hoping nobody bets on me because there’s no way I’m getting near my best time, especially as it was set on flat tarmac (in 2013?) and I’m running on bumpy grass in 2020. Nowt to do with age or added lockdown drinking weight, of course. 🙄

Well I’m assuming the person is only betting on fake parkrun times and not my 5k time cause they have no chance :-(

Fake parkrun done. Failed to get a PB, I did a big shop early in the week so have been gorging on cakes and biscuits. Oh well.
Some of the comments above are quite scary, hadn't really thought about the logistics of parkrun but it doesn't look like there will be any more this year. Unless we get a vaccine maybe?
If so, would people be willing to sign up to paid 5k runs, with limits on numbers, like in the pre pr days? Or just carry on with fake ones for free and maybe meet up with a running buddy.

I'd pay £2 for a 5K, maybe even £5/6 the odd time. Hope it would not go the American way of $$35 and all the hoopla (idiot tax :-p ). Probably not weekly, though.

Local club used to have a good wee 5K for £2, 150-200 runners on a summers evening (£2 is the limit where you don't need an extra £2 levy for unaffiliated,)

Austria is allowing meetings of up to 10. That would be small race, but it's a start :-)

Fakerun done and new PB and a sub 30. 29.14 so it’s a step in the right direction. Warm up lap first and glute definitely getting better.

A social (even if it meant running a few yards apart) club run would be infinitely more valuable to me than any race
