HB - Penrith is pan flat, two laps on a shale path around some football pitches. The people are pleasant enough and they have access to the pavilion for changing/showers. Coffee is a 'make it yourself using the materials provided' situation (drop a few pennies in a pot to contribute towards future weeks' supplies) and the week I went they had ample cake donated. I know I'm not alone in having found it a bit underwhelming but I also know people who really like it - in my opinion, depending on where you're staying, Keswick would be a better option for visitors.

Mrs S - Singapore now has 3 locations - and this year, both East & west Coast Park had runs on 1-Jan (although not many people turned up there). (see, eg, parkrun.sg ) Looks like the Bishan one only started in the last few months. The 7:30 start won't seem early - you'll be jet lagged & awake anyway - and it does get quite hot there. |

I had a quick look at the Penrith course page and was distinctly underwhelmed. We're staying in Matterdale so will have to drive wherever we go

Thanks um! My son is going to be living walking distance from West Park (hopefully, not confirmed yet) so we should manage to drag him to that one! The other two will depend on the public transport system, but everyone tells me it's great so we'll see if we can make it. I love a new year's day parkrun, starts the year off in a nice way. We are planning the trip to KL to coincide with a Saturday because of parkrun. That's my doing, husband and son are not that bothered but it didn't matter when we went so may as well go for a Saturday I said. |

Mrs S & Singapore : One of my favourite places (from working there) and non-working visit earlier this year. MRT (train/subway) is safe, cheap & easy to use - and if not, taxis are cheap & plentiful. Botanic Gardens is good to run in (not parkrun) & also Southern Ridges. |

t-shirt news - I ran my 100th on May 12th this year, 4 1/2 weeks ago, and have just had my claim your T-shirt email. That's pretty impressive catching up from the backlog they had a few months ago

Must’ve just sent a mass email out. I earned my volunteer shirt on 19 May and also got the “claim your shirt” e-mail today.

got to wait until mid July for a medium though, I could have had a large straight away. I did find the sizing confusing and would have liked some more guidance. slightly worried it's going to be too small.
