Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Let's talk about inaugural parkruns after they've happened.

That's good news about Teignmouth, it looked as if it would wither away for a while.

I'm sure quite a few people have been waiting for Towcester to pop up - groan!

Only your fourth post, Bishop, but it's a cracker :-).

I'm in a dilemma over a forthcoming inaugural. Lochore Meadows (19th May). It is very far from being a secret as there have been regular FB posts on the park's pages about its progress, including the launch date (which makes clear, btw, that if you don't want to run, you can walk). I'd like to go, but recent guidance etc. It's not that local, but given that only two parkruns are, it's as local as many other I visit periodically. I think it will have decent numbers, but not to the point of being overrun. Hmm hmm.

Given all the new faces volunteering at Bramley at the moment and knowing some of them live in Armley it looks like Armley Park, 2 miles down the road and what would be Leeds' 7th parkrun, could be starting sooner rather than later.

9th, strictly speaking (the City of Leeds has a rather voluminous boundary). :)

I have heard that Marston Vale has funding, permission, and a keen ambassador, but no core team. Worth getting in touch with pr if any of you are nearby and want to support this.

Having deliberately left out the towns of Wetherby & Rothwell parkruns from my Leeds number I knew Charlie would comment!😁

Snap Dvorak, keeping an eye on it also.

There may be an inaugural parkrun happening near you. Best to check with the local parkrun volunteers to see if they want you to know about it or not.

Otherwise there are plenty of already established parkruns to go to in the UK and abroad, see: parkrun.org.uk
