Brilliant ride out around the Forest of Bowland, cafe stop in Waddington before the soul-destroyer that is the Waddy Fell climb. Just pootled along at an easy pace and enjoyed the first signs of spring.

I took the e-gravel bike out for a pleasant loop around the northern fringes of Preston. It was a delightful ride in glorious sunshine with blossom adding colour to many of the trees, although as is sadly par for the course these days a few of the bridleway sections were barely accessible due to narrow enclosures (well under the 2m width that a bridleway should have) and overgrown trees.

Expedition bike on guided ride looking at local infrastructure- and some of the history of landed estates turned housing estates - interspersed with hidden greenways. Nothing too demanding but recovering from some lurgy so good choice. Sadle sun never burned off the morning fog/mist

Gorgeous until I hit the coast then the sea mist rolled in and the temperature dropped. Quickly headed back inland

Long and hard ride today on expedition bike. Mostly across the forest with a gusty headwind. Lower register much in use.

Truly gorgeous circuit in the Dales today, sun was out and the lambs were bouncing around the fields. Left home for Settle via Austwick and then Helwith Bridge, Horton, Ribblehead, Newby Head, Cowgill on the newly repaired road, Dent, Gawthrop (yes, THAT climb) then down Barbondale into Barbon itself before turning for home. Truly magnificent, about 54 miles and getting on for 4,000ft climb.
