You've done longer run than I have so far this year Tricia. Although that should change by tomorrow

The weather isn't helping my running. Lots of icy pavements and roads today, and half the country is covered in snow. Was supposed to go to Milngavie last week for a run but put it off due to the weather which probably wasn't quite as bad as expected.

I've now done 3 very slow recce runs on the course- 1 from Tyndrum south towards ( but not acutally reaching) Beinglas. 2 from Balmaha north to ( and just past) Rowardennan. Am hoping to join the saturday run at thenext fling trainig weekend- they are talkng about Beinglas start, running southwards- I just need some other slowbies to go with- the first recce run I was on my own for the return leg, whereas I had great company for the ones at Balmaha- makes such a difference if you are in company! I suspect that most of the WHW is less icy than pavements and roads, but I definately needed my Yaktraks up the kilpatrick hills today- and STILL fell over! ( minimal harm done- grazes and bruises only)

Well done tricia (not the falling over, I mean the getting out and up in first place) and good long training runs. Def more fun with friends than alone. More Fling and WHW (and/or Glee Club) runs for me on WHW over next few months too. Always fun! G

Clueless
Hi people I have entered this but seeing as I haven't run for like weeks, I am not going to take up my place. I just wondered if it was worth mentioning in case someone wanted to take it off me. I'm not sure about the transfer rules etc.

No transfers, no waiting list, clueless. The numbers accepted at the original entry date make an assumption for a % of drop outs. You've still got three months to go, are you sure you won't be in a position to run?

Or even run/walk Clueless? Just aim for the cut-offs and have a good day out...

Best race finish atmosphere of all time. I'd choose to walk it rather than not take part! G

Clueless - I was not able to make the start last year and looked but couldn't see a way of transferring and entry. I think with 1000 entries they probably rely on a few non-starters as that is a huge field of runners.
See you all in Milngavie!
