Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Badger- fantastic that is just what I was looking for. Stupidly, I didn't think to look to see if there is an app that does it!
Cheers!

With regard to the Garmin watches, it's quite common practice elsewhere, I've found, for two differently priced electronic items to be identical in hardware, but for the cheaper of the two to be 'brain-damaged' in the software (firmware) so as to give the impression you're buying extra features when you shell out more money.

I've no problem with them restricting hardware or software for marketing purposes, it was more that they got it wrong at launch, then only removed it when users were saying "hey, this is nice we got a little surprise for free". They lost some goodwill there, albeit from only a small group of users who were in the know.

Chris, I'm going to have a go with the SDK and see how far I get. My coding is limited to VBS and a bit of python, but I'll enjoy having a go! But when it get stuck know where to come!!

I doubt you'll struggle with Python with that lot under your belt. Biggest problem is keeping track of where variables are just different names for the same object.

I've written a couple of Connect IQ widgets, code's fairly straightforward but matching up processing and UI can be a bit tedious.

There seems to be some good help in the CIQ forums if you need it.

Everything you need to know about training with a heart rate monitor. Remember the motto "I can maintain a fast pace over the race distance because I am an Endurance God". Mind the trap door....

Gobi lurks here, but for his advice you must first speak his name. Ask and you shall receive.

A quote:

"The area between the top of the aerobic threshold and anaerobic threshold is somewhat of a no mans land of fitness. It is a mix of aerobic and anaerobic states. For the amount of effort the athlete puts forth, not a whole lot of fitness is produced. It does not train the aerobic or anaerobic energy system to a high degree. This area does have its place in training; it is just not in base season. Unfortunately this area is where I find a lot of athletes spending the majority of their seasons, which retards aerobic development. The athletes heart rate shoots up to this zone with little power or speed being produced when it gets there." Matt Russ, US International Coach
