Not sure whether it was the outage or re pairing via the app to a new phone but some of my watch settings changed at random. The cheeky bugger told me to move (I had alerts turned off) and the clock went to 12 not 24hr. I changed them back but it's most odd.

Gus, flanker, yes that's the succinct version - a route is a small set of waypoints which are quite information rich, a track is the detailed layout of the path the whole way. The GPX schema topografix.com defines "route - an ordered list of waypoints representing a series of turn points leading to a destination" and "track - an ordered list of points describing a path" Tracks are composed of track segments which are composed of wpts, routes are composed of wpts. It gets more complicated moving to TCX and FIT files, which really focus on courses, which are tracks with coursepoints for turns, water stops, hazards and such embedded. I have never found documentation for how FIT handles locations, but it must because that's how they are stored in watches with navigation. I maybe overthinking all this yet again. |

Gus - Re your link: https://support.garmin.com/en-GB/?faq=v0rJAHy2hq3prHjRlxdRw5# If I've got it right, everything from :~: onwards and inclusive can be removed. It's something I've noticed recently on Fetch where some links seem to have descriptions appended from whatever source they are copied and therefore don't become links on Fetch. |

I have a fairly old 410 and the plastic watch strap has torn. Has anybody had any success in buying a spare or bodging a solution? Thanks in advance for your help. |

Bob!
Best looking in the small print when you buy one. From experience it will take months if it is shipped from China. |

um
Have never managed to bodge straps. Insulating tape may last a while, but not long. Have had garmin replacements* (official garmin can be found <£17 on Amazon) and 'cheap' silicone ones. The cheap silicone ones, other than the bright colours, can be more comfortable than the fairly rigid okder garmin ones, Have not changed a 410, but other garmins have been easy to change straps. *I did have one garmin replacement that also then broke within 6 months. Replaced after a support call / email with no hassle. |
