Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I've got it I think. Will post on the puzzles thread to give others a chance. Only saw it after looking a second time. Funny how the word forcing was the trigger to me finding it.

PS, I need the coordinates at the bottom! You surely don't expect us to remember them?! ;-)

That runs into Qc1+ and Qf4+ swapping queens into a winning (for white) but tediously long endgame which at 2 days per move I was keen to avoid :-)

(That above was in response to Meglet.)

I don’t expect you to remember the coords SPR but I do expect you to be able to count and to know the alphabet :-)

Hard enough trying to find the moves without knowing the alphabet and how to count ;-)

I've posted my answer on the puzzle thread.

I drew my first AFS game a couple of days ago by agreement. Analysis says I was slightly up all the was but her final move made me think I was in trouble and I went for a counter with my final move (which was an inaccuracy) before my draw offer was accepted.

There was an interesting missed win which I would never have seen without the analysis and looks forced to me. Screenshot with black (me) to move. Game link below.

SPR positions like this with opposite coloured bishops and queens are often very dangerous and you're entitled to look for tactical opportunities.

Here you can see you’re getting 2 pawns for the B and still have a big attach, quite likely winning the B back, so worth analysing in detail.

Mole-thing - I didn't think it was worth losing the bishop for two pawns but analysis says the least I get on best moves is the bishop back there so I'd have been three pawns up.

It actually says the best move is for white not to take the the bishop if I take the pawn. Totally missed by me.
