Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

"Running through a zone scores two points, biking scores one point, swimming earns four points, and anything logged as cross-training scores one point. If you run through a zone more than once on the same day, you won't get multiple points; but you can score daily points in each of the four disciplines. Points scored are tallied up over the last 365 days, and the owner of the zone is the player with the most points. In the case of a tie, the zone is classed as unowned." :-)

What about getting your legover in a zone.

That must be auto win!

And probably highly motivating!

Do you have to be running when you get your leg over TB? Or just wearing a garmin?

Is it possible to add to the zone a list of races which go through it? This would be useful for both targeting other zones, and understanding more about the other people who use it.

If the race has a route attached to it, it might be possible to link those things together.

Thanks Fetch. Sorry to be thick. Was worried I might have lost my explored ones, but it's just owned ones I've lost.

I've just found a really weird string of ones across the sea that I don't remember swimming! It says Bike. Must have been a wonky GPS signal or something? Would be great to know what training upload generated it, but there's no feature for that, is there? Would be great general feature actually - list of all the training log items that generated the points.

Regarding the ownership expiring after 365 days, I think a better scheme might just be that older ones count less e.g. after 6 months they go down to half, after 1 year 1/4 and down to 0.1 after 2 years or something. It just means that a zone you conquered and owned, you own forever, unless someone else comes along. Rather than it becoming "unowned"? if that makes sense? :-) G

That sounds rather complicated. I rather like the conquering expiring after 365 days, it appeals to the simplicity of the game.

In zones around town, where a few runners pass through, the number of hits we score goes up and down in quite a logical way (if for example you were very keen a year ago, or in contrast maybe injured and unable to run through that zone for a while).

Actually, I could suggest something even more complicated, but actually reasonably intuitive in other ways?

Your value in a zone goes down every day since you last visited it (but never to zero, so you don't lose it, unless someone else comes along). Then there would be none "tied" because the chance of two people having visited the same zone the same number of times and on the same days goes down.

I second the request for a return to the last zone being examined, not back to home zone every time. Relinquishing zones takes forever! :-) G

I'm afraid I'm with Oranj. I like the simplicity of run it within the year or lose the points.

I like the expiring conquered score as well. The map is set up nicely for explored and woned zones, but doesn't really support chasing the annual explored total. Plus there's no leaderboard for annual scores

Currently you get red for owned and yellow for explored and uncoloured for unexplored.

I'd like to see the yellow zones split into two colours: one for those visited in the last year, i.e. the ones in the list of Unowned zones on the Your Account page with at least 1 point; and one for those explored but not visited in the last year, i.e. Unowned zones with 0 points. That way you can re-target old explored zones and up your Annual count. Then whack in an Annual leaderboard and we have ourselves a competition. :-)

oranj - That would be interesting. IFAIK the "nearly conquered" change in colour on the "My account" page is at

Is that true?? I don't have that?
