Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Trying to work out if this is some kind of breach of copyright. It’s so close to the original game.

Got the first two quickly but took ages to get a third group. I didn’t know what the ‘easy’ connection was even when it was the only one left.

Ah yes. Very good point.

Wonder how much Only Connect know about this though! Mind, it's also the best form of flattery.

I do hope that the “associate puzzle editor” at NYT isn’t claiming it as her brainchild. If “working on“ had actually been expressed as “coding, based on an existing BBC format”, that would have sounded a lot better.

And VCM is onto it, as she has replied to the tweet, but frankly there isn’t much she or the BBC can do about it.

Two of today's groups must be very much Americanisms. Two of the words don't fit the synonym connection for me, and I've not heard of the cyber one

About This Thread

Maintained by Seratonin
Addictive puzzle from the NY Times site - where the Wordle game lives. The aim is to find four different groups from each puzzle
.
Colour code for the groups are:
Yellow = easiest group
Green = next easiest

Blue = more tricky
Purple = hardest group to connect.

Beware of the herrings i.e. links between clues which are designed to lead you down a path that doesn't exist.

Comments on your games are welcome but please use the spoiler option to hide any comments that might give answers away for others still working the puzzle out 😃

If you see a comment like PBD then it means Purple By Default (or whatever colour you are left with last without recognising what the link is)
