At 38⁰ I would just be seeking shade and water! We've all been thinking of you @Dubairunner "Interesting times" indeed! |

Dubairunner, 38 degrees is over 90 degrees F! I'm not surprised that you had to stop your run. Best of luck with the remaining 5 years away from the UK. A steady solo 3.5 miles this morning in irritating, but not heavy rain. |

I'd love to be running in that heat. Instead it is June in the UK cold and wet 😞

Nice to hear from you Dubairunner. I couldn't handle that heat. I also wish I could retire in 5 years, still got a long time to go. Summer isn't exactly summer, it was 5 degrees when I was out at 5am this morning, back on the long sleeves. The sun was lovely though. Raining again now. Tuesday was the same rained through the whole session, of course it start not long after I left and stopped nearer the end of the run. Was hoping to get strawberries from the allotment last weekend, still none ready yet. Last year we were fed up of them by now. Everything is behind. |

Well done on squeezing five miles or so into your itinerary Peter. And well done too hs on putting up with the rain and doing a solo run. Quite winter temperatures up there Lesley no wonder strawberries aren't ripe. I've enjoyed almost twelves years of retirement but also enjoyed many aspects of work too. Trouble with reaching retirement age is quite simply there are fewer years left! A 5k this morning in heavy drizzle was remarkably pleasant even though a my hands were very cold throughout. I went out three hours later than I usually do so maybe I was just more awake! |

Even more pertinently 38⁰ is greater than body temperature ... and as Flanders and Swan may have taught us (or not) Heat can not, of its own, pass from one body to a cooler body in their interpretation of the Laws of Thermodynamics. So you're going to get hotter! |
